Strong hopes of British concerts

The world’s most dynamic and controversial vocal personality – Elvis Presley – has been posted to Europe! He joins an American tank corps in Germany on September 12, as part of his National Service with the U.S. Forces.

The comparatively short distance from Britain gives strong hopes to the definite likelihood of him making his first appearances in Britain – during his leave while in Germany.

It is significant too, that Lee Gordon, who has arranged many of Presley’s U.S. concerts, is arriving in London this week-end – with the strong possibility that he will be joined here by Colonel Tom Parker, Elvis’s personal manager. British fans will eagerly await developments – particularly as dates here would be quite logical for Presley, during leave from Germany.

He has completed his basic training course at the Fort Hood Army base in America; in a few weeks time, Presley takes advantage of his first leave to record new titles for RCA. The session is scheduled to take place in Nashville, Tennessee.
