Anybody who thought that Elvis Presley’s Army call-up would put his rock ‘n’ roll career on the rocks had better think again.
For, in spite of the present slump in this kind of music, Elvis is still a big draw. Advance orders are going out in thousands for his latest recording “Hard Headed Woman” (RCA).
It’s such a rhythmic joint thumper that I can forget what Elvis lacks verbally and vocally – and award him my Pic of the Discs prize this week.
I shall be very surprised if it doesn’t top our Hit Parade.
