PRESLEY ROMANCE – ‘NO COMMENT’

ELVIS PRESLEY does not deny Hollywood star Ann-Margret’s talk of romance and wedding bells.

In London last week Swedish-born Ann-Margret said of Elvis at a Press conference: “I am going steady with him and I guess I’m in love. But I cannot say when, or if, we will marry. Neither has been fixed.”

In reply to an NME cable earlier this week asking for confirmation or denial came the reply from assistant manager Tom Diskin: “Checked with Presley. Presley has no comment.”

Ann-Margret was in London for the premiere of “Bye Bye Birdie.” She also co-starred in the most recently completed Presley film “Viva Las Vegas” and it was their teaming for this picture that brought about their reported romance.

From New York, Nat Hentoff cables: “After completing his present picture, ‘Kissin’ Cousins,’ Elvis will take four months away from filming before starting his next for Hal Wallis – ‘Roustabout’ in mid-March.”

Presley this week received his eighth golden album for RCA Victor. It is for million sales of “Elvis’ Christmas Album,” issued in the autumn of 1957.
