TWO of the songs featured by Elvis Presley in the film “GI Blues” and included on the soundtrack album of the film are being released by RCA in single form next Friday, March 3.

They are “Wooden Heart” in which part of the lyric is sung in German by Presley, and “Tonight Is So Right For Love,” based on the Barcarolle from Offenbach’s “Tales of Hoffman.”

British sales of Presley’s current release, “Are You Lonesome Tonight,” have now topped the 8000,000 mark.

Presley is the most likely contender for the lead in MGM’s film adaptation of the Tennessee Williams play, “Sweet Bird of Youth,” cables Nat Hentoff. The play was originally produced on Broadway last year, with Paul Newman in the lead.
