BEE GEES TACKLE RCA OVER ELVIS LP CREDIT
THE Bee Gees have written to RCA, the American record company, to complain about the label information on the new Elvis Presley double album.
Presley has recorded the Bee Gee song, “Words,” on the album “Live” from the International Hotel in Las Vegas.
But the Gibb Brothers are not credited on the label as having written the number. Instead, the names “Tommy Boyce & Bob Hart” appear.
Bee Gees Barry and Maurice Gibb have made their complaint through their publishing company, Abigail Music (London) Ltd.
So far, the mistake is confined to the first American pressing and the Bee Gees have been told that it will be corrected on the English label.
A spokesman for them said, “They were very pleased that Presley should have chosen one of their numbers for the album and we are told that he is considering it as a single in the New Year.”
