The Elvis Presley souvenir booth in the main lobby of the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel will be operated by members of the Home of the Good Shepherd Auxiliary, with the Home benefitting from the sale of the items. The booth will be open from Saturday through Feb. 9.

The Home, which currently accommodates 75 local girls from the ages of 12 through 19, is operated by the Sisters of the Good Shepherd with all funds derived through charitable contributions.

Members of the Home of the Good Shepherd Auxiliary, under the direction of Mrs. Jewel Brooks, president, and Mrs. Thalia Dondero will operate the booth from 9 a.m. until 3 a.m. on weekends and from noon until 3 a.m. during the week.

During Elvis’ past two engagements at the Hilton the Nevada Society for the Aurally Handicapped and the Girls Club of Southern Nevada have operated the souvenir booth with amazing success.

In the four-and-a-half years Elvis has been appearing in Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe he and his manager, Col, Tom Parker, have contributed nearly $150,000 to Nevada charities.
