Meeting with President Nixon

Elvis handwritten letter to President Nixon

18 Nov 2008

Elvis famously traveled to Washington in 1970 to meet with President Nixon at the White House. The documentation has subsequently been released from the official US Government archives of the time, and are presented here. Elvis wrote the attached 6-page letter to the President whilst travelling on board an American Airlines flight to Washington in the hope of securing an audience at the White House. Aside from providing a fascinating insight into the circumstances surrounding this intriguing encounter the handwritten letter from Elvis is perhaps the most extensive example of his handwritting in the public domain - so is of great interest for autograph authenticators and fans alike.
