ANNOUNCING OUR BRAND-NEW ELVIS WORLD HERE AND NOW FOR YOU FROM US

There are exciting developments within the Elvis world, commencing this month with the release of"Elvis", the Baz Luhrmann biopic of Elvis Presley (played by Austin Butler), and Tom Hanks taking on the role of Colonel Parker. This movie will be the game-changer for Elvis, outreaching to a whole new mass of converts appreciating his legacy. Todd is now working alongside the publicity department at Warner Bros to ensure that the general public is aware of just how important this production is in sustaining interest in Elvis.

The fan club must adapt to accommodate both our existing membership and the new kids on the block.

Two years of stagnation during the pandemic and now the tragic Ukraine conflict have impacted on all of us, both socially, and economically. Rising food, fuel and taxation costs have made us realise that for the majority of Elvis fan club supporters around the world, a subscription renewal has become bottom of the "to-do-list."

Fortunately, we have already upgraded our social media activities and, in association with the tech community, we are on-the-ball with some exciting developments which Garry is outlining in a 24 page pull-out extra within this publication.

To accommodate the economic climate, and to help those who have not been able to afford a subscription, we have taken the decision to reduce our membership to just £5.00 a year. Our latest magazine (summer 2022) can be found on the website for registered users and members. At this point there are no plans to publish and print future editions other than in digital formal published via the website. We appreciate this may be something of a surprise and a disappointing break with tradition, but it is only sensible in the current climate and recognizing how many fans both new and old choose to engage with us. There will be a special "members-only" access within our web site, and if you don't have the internet at home then a friend, family member or your local library will enable you to visit our site. If you have just renewed, then your membership will now last for four years, and those who are entitled to three more magazines then that will become three years and pro-rata. Those who are due to renew now will find a form included in this issue. Thank you for your continued support and we promise that, as always, we will continue to offer you an excellent service.

In closing, I would like to thank Henry Nicholls for his support, especially during the past few difficult years, together with his sister Alice. Henry now has a new career in engineering, and we wish him well for the future. He sends his best wishes to his Elvis friends and hopes to see them all again soon.
